Product Review

Sixty years ago Abe Griffin saved the world and gained eternal youth.

Or so he thought.

Now, a man that Abe believed to be long dead is killing the surviving members of Abe's old squad in order to reclaim the relics that they have kept hidden for decades.

The relics form an ancient beacon that must never be used, in a ritual that must never be completed. But the end of the world requires more than just activating the beacon.

It requires Abe.

With help from the granddaughter of his oldest friend, Abe must learn the truth about his immortal body, while at the same time trying to stop a horrifying series of supernatural opponents from sweeping away everything that he cares about.

I was very impressed with this book. Character development was great and I found myself really wanting to "know" the characters better. The fact that the hero "Abe" is flawed makes this story all the more engaging. In addition the other character's flaws and emotions reel you in. You really find that you get into the psychology of the characters. I am excited by the prospect that some characters may have more stories (guessing that they will since this is book1).

I would also agree with previous reviewers that this was a very hard book to put down. I am pretty busy most days and typically only find the time to read right before bed. This book kept me up quite late several nights. I constantly found myself just saying "one more chapter and then I will put it down" only to realize 5 chapters had gone by. Good thing I work from home....since my coworkers would think I am hung over. Dark circles under the eyes and all. Nope just "partying" all night with a good...Read more

Bad Radio is an exceptional novel, telling the story of a man who had a mystical encounter during World War II, and was forever changed by it. Sixty years later, those events came back to haunt him, threatening the end of the world, unless he has the strength to overcome his own rage.

For a self-published Kindle title, Bad Radio is a very polished work. It's well-edited, with only a few technical errors (having read a number of amateur and self-published works recently, believe me, you can tell the difference between someone who's done their own editing and someone who's enlisted some professional help), and it's also well-formatted on the page, giving you something that looks like what you'd expect from a commercially published book.

The story is part Stephen King and part H.P. Lovecraft. Unlike some of my other recent reads, Langlois deftly moves the plot along, without having to resort to ham-handed expository devices. The story and dialogue flows...Read more
