Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks Dad: 101 Stories of Gratitude, Love, and Good Times

I really, really liked this collection. This is not my standard type of reading material, but I need a gift for my husband for Father's Day. Someone suggested this book, so I bought it. I pre-screened it because I wanted to make sure it was worth reading before giving it as a gift.

I found the stories to be touching, humorous and warm. The different authors really bring a wide variety of experiences and viewpoints, so the book didn't get too saccharine before there was a change of pace. I think there is something for everyone in there. My favories were:

"Silence is Golden" and
"Not Afraid Anymore"

It's a great gift for that hard-to-buy for Dad; I am going to buy another for my own father.

The volume contains 101 unforgettable stories about dads, stepfathers, and grandfathers, and covers everything from "the bond between fathers and daughters" to "great father and son moments" to "how dads really do know best." There are humorous and heartwarming stories about dads and sports, dads raising teenagers, dads to the rescue, hero dads, and (my favorite) How dads say "I love you." I was deeply moved by this unique collection of stories. I recommend ordering a copy of "Chicken Soup for the Soul, Thanks Dad" for your own father. It's a perfect way to thank him for all the love and good times you shared together.

Anyone who is a college student (or who is the parent of one) will appreciate "From the Only" story in this book. A father can do so much during the college years with just one gesture. And a grown child can return the favor later. Buy this book for Father's Day.
