This review is from: Dante's Inferno: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback) My main interest in picking up game guides is to make sure I don't miss any hidden items or collectibles. So far, this guide has been very helpful. Everything is clear and concise, with useful pictures and good descriptions. It's layout is sensible and easy to navigate. Everything is correct, I have yet to find any mistakes, or erronious content. Very useful for helping you find all the collectible items, so pick it up if you want to make your own life easier when hunting these items down. Otherwise, this game isn't that long or complicated, a seasoned gamer probably won't need the guide for anything else. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Dante's Inferno: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback) Honestly, this guide is Just OK. Sure it covers everything a gaming guide typically covers but there's just nothing special here. It's a relatively thin guide at only 176 pages for a game like this, and at $20 retail value that's a rip-off. However, for the discount Amazon is offering it at, it may be worth your money if you really love this game and are into gaming guides. For my purposes though, there isn't anything in it that you can't find on the Internet and thus it's not worth my $$. But again, it just depends on how much you like the game and how much you want a guide to go w/ it. Definitely don't buy at retail though.... 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Z-man (St. Petersburg, FL United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dante's Inferno: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback) I got a hold of this after struggling mightily with more of the puzzles than any of the actual enemies in Hell itself, as funny as that seems. Some of the puzzles in this game are quite obvious, others...not so much. This guide helped me immensely after getting stuck a few times, which is one good/usual reason why you get a game guide, isn't it? This book itself I find laid out extremely clearly, which is fantastic. Through past experiences I've found many Prima guides to be muddled messes of design (I'm looking at you, Devil May Cry guide!), but overall this one is quite nice looking, clean design and very helpful. I can see this guide being very helpful on multiple play-throughs for all the relics, secrets, and of course--the tips.
If you like this game and want more out of it, this guide is money well spent rather than spending 45 minutes on a puzzle that goes nowhere. |
