I wanted a guide that allowed me to play the game the way I want, but would provide additional information on finding key weapons, developer easter eggs, and easily usable charts to help determine which weapons to keep and which to chuck. I got NONE of these with this book.
In fact here's what you don't get:
- Any weapon stats, and modifier characteristics (what does Wicked / Debilitating /Deadly) mean
- Where to find weapons that are not randomly generated
- Secret mods and blueprint locations and weapons (Seriously, no mention of the Skulls?)
- Crafting ingredient chart with value, what it's used for, place to consistently find each item (For instance, there is always two rolls of duct tape in the warehouse room of the lighthouse)
If you religiously follow walkthroughs, then maybe you get something out of this guide. But, I honestly doubt it. I'll be using an online wiki instead.
Please save your money and avoid this...Read more

Riddled with errors and major omissions,

Brady guides are always terrible, riddled with errors, and NEVER have an index. But this one is even worse. No wonder the three authors, Tim Bogenn, Michael Owen, and Kenny Sims did not put their name on the cover (it is on the backpage).
On deadislandwiki everytime we find a mistake we label it, and add it to the page:
Category:Unofficial Guide Mistakes.
Here are some of the mistakes we have found thus far:
*Omitted side quests:
**A Tough Nut to Crack
**Remains of the Damned
*Omitted chapters (main quests are there just no chapters):
**Chapter 9: Good News vs. Bad News,
**Chapter 17: Hope is the Last to Die and
**Chapter 18: The World Went Away.
*Lists a "nun" (Helen?) as giving the Meat Bait Mod in Drowned Hope as a reward. It also correctly list Antonio giving the Meat Bait Mod in the next quest, Drop by Drop.
*Family Matters quest: mistakenly lists Heavy Brass Knuckles as the...Read more

I'll keep this short and simple.
-For those who expected to find skulls, there's no skulls location if you're looking forward to find them all from this guide.
-This guide don't even tell you where to get all the blueprints.
-About 80% of this guide is about questing and other useless simple information. Most stuff in this guide is something I already knew and everybody will probably came across in this game.
Verdict: This guide act like bigger user manual more than a strategy guide.
Even I bought it for 12$ I still felt bad for the money that I lost, I will not buy any guide from brady again.(Prima is better, seconded to Futurepress)
