So I was worried that this guide would be delayed a while, but I ended up getting it just a day after my original ship date (go amazon!) I knew that this guide was going to be pretty good since IMO Future Press guides have a higher quality than Prima or Brady in artwork and content (the Portal 2 CE guide was awesome and is still one of my favorite CE guides). The whole design of the hard cover is impressive with the gold and black abstract art of Adam Jensen. The logo of the game on the binding is small though, so that could be a good or bad thing if you're looking for it.
The preface to the guide says that FuturePress had 6 months with the game to fill out this guide - I can definitely see that...this guide has a ridiculous amount of information. Every possible strategy and map is included, and if you plan on sticking with a specific approach (like no kills in the whole game), the guide will give you plenty of help. Tips are included to gain the most XP possible for each...Read more

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution guide is published by Future Press, and it's up to their usual high standards in terms of comprehensiveness. It covers the walkthrough, upgrades to player and weapons, maps, side quests and enemies.
Walkthrough
The walkthroughs are split into Stealth, Stealth Combat, and Combat path. They are detailed and good to refer to when stuck. The walkthroughs are great for subsequent plays when you want to change your style of play.
If you're the type who refers to the walkthrough only when stuck - to avoid spoilers - I recommend reading in advance the "Optional Exploration", side quests, and trophies so that you don't miss them out. For the first mission on rescuing hostages, I wasted too much time in the checking out what this guide has to offer while the game was still running and forgot all about the hostages (and they got killed - Oops!).
Maps
The maps are great and they serve...Read more

Beautifully put together and organized. The structure of the instructions are easy to follow and very succinctly guides you using Stealth, Combat, and Stealth/Combat paths to victory. Spoilers are minimized at every jucture, and despite the length of the guide, there is surprisingly no wasted space. Every word is important. My favorite section was the weapons section. Instead of providing the usual stats and specs, there is a great detailed run down of when it's useful, pro's and con's and best usages. Really cool stuff.
