This review is for the strategy guide BOOK for Dragon's Dogma, not the actual game (loved the game, by the way).

I'm very satisfied with this purchase, as I use the guide for reference quite frequently. Unfortunately, there is quite a lot about the pawn system that is not explained in-game or in the manual that comes inside the cover. Details on the tendency types, how to change pawn behavior, class rank/skill matches, etc. weren't really explained elsewhere. Also, the large and detailed map of Grand Soren is good.

The guide also lists stats for all weapons, armor, creatures, and details on quests. I've tried to avoid the quest section, since I wanted to avoid spoilers...but what I have seen of the quest explanation has been pretty solid.

My biggest complaint about this guide is that the quest/area sections seem to be in alphabetically order rather than listed in order of when you encounter them in the story. For those avoiding spoilers, it makes...Read more

I was very Pleased with the Price here on Amazon. I Primarily bought the book for the crafting section. But with all of the detailed Armor and weapon scales (Including Level 4 Dragon Forged), I can make calculated decisions on whether I want to upgrade something or not. I can locate hard to find items and it even says what the percentage rate for a drop is. A Very valuable tool for a game that will last as long as you want it to.

The only problem I have found is that the categories for Assassins and Mystic Knights are swapped on "Armor" pieces. It says it is for an Assassin, but it works for a Mystic Knight instead and vice versa.

So even though I got the guide before I actually got the game, it still looks very nice. The guide is very detailed, it doesn't give you a straight forward path through the game. It just goes and explains every area and what monsters are in it with very detailed maps and inventory. It also shows you all the quests available in the game. It shows you the armor and weapons and where you can find them. It has the full list of monsters you'll find in the game, along with tips on how to fight them.
Overall I really nice guide for the game.
