Comment: The product was great and was what I expected. There could of been maps for dungons and other helpfull hints that were not included but the book does the job and it does it well.

Summary: No Index?! You really need one for a non-linear game like Oblivion 2009-05-19
Comment: Oblivion is a huge video game, with hundreds of characters, multitudes of quests that you can do in any order, and the action takes place in a vast terrain with towns, forts, prisons, caves, etc. As such, this guide covers a lot of material -531 pages worth. I think it does a pretty good job of covering everything - the problem is finding the section that is relevant to whatever point you happen to be in the game. Since the game is completely non-linear it's not like you can just read the guide straight through. Honestly, if this thing had an index, which listed all character names, location names, quest titles, and the like I'd give it 4 to 5 stars. Without the index you want to throw this thing at the wall.
Oh and one other complaint, they printed it on tan patterned paper (no doubt to make it look like old world parchment). The extremely dense text just sort of blends into the patterned parchment and makes it difficult to read.
Quite a disappointment. Hopefully a later edition will add an index and they'll print the damn thing on white paper.

Summary: Oblivion guide 2009-04-22
Comment: This book is very helpful. I was able to learn how to play the game and if I got stuck I could get help to complete various tasks. The only pitfall of the book is no table of contents making it hard to find information quickly.

Summary: The Best Guide Book Around 2009-04-04
Comment: I don't go out and buy a game and the Guide book in the same day. I want to play the game first to see how I do. I had this game for several weeks before ordering it on line from Amazon. I really enjoyed the game and cann't stop playing it. When I looked into the book and followed it as usual I fould a lot of things that I did wrong and missed the first time around.
I really liked that the book doesn't tell you everything right out in detail on exactly how something has to be done. It gets you started on a quest or job and you have to do the work and some thinking. Other books tell you step by step when to do something. Like the bad guy is right around the corner so duck.
This is a very organized book and easy to read and understand tables.
I will definately buy Bethesda games and books again.
