Spelling errors (Gained JP VP), bad lay out (she/her/hers), badly edited (Summoners using katanas, Oracles as strong nature magi), and even some stuff that didnt make any sense (Priest best spells "Gael, Gaelelga, Gaelelja"). also, the only reference at ALL to the Deep Dungeon is under the Zodiac Summoning spell. there are alot of other mistakes in it as well. there is also NO reference to guest/special characters and their ability JP costs.. all in all, buy the Prima one, it has to be 8 million times better 15 of 15 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Final Fantasy Tactics: Unofficial Final Fantasy Tactics Ulimate Strategy Guide (Paperback) Well, it's a good guide for people who are absolutely clueless to the RPG world, or who are having a really hard time with FFT. However, this book is anything but "ultimate". It doesn't even mention the Deep Dungeon scenario, has no maps whatsoever, and is inaccurate in many places (Summoners equipping katanas?). Save your money and look for FAQs and Walkthrus on the Internet, or buy to official guide put out by Prima, which is much better. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Princess of Powder (Boston) - See all my reviews This review is from: Final Fantasy Tactics: Unofficial Final Fantasy Tactics Ulimate Strategy Guide (Paperback) Talk about a waste of money! I agree with the previous reviewer who said that this book is ONLY good for someone who is completely clueless about FF Tactics and who is struggling to complete even the early stages. I'm no slouch at this game and have beat it several times, however, I thought a guide would be handy so I could have job skill charts, weapons/armor charts, and of course, deep dungeon and guest character charts right at my finger tips. Unfortunately, this book provided NONE of these things. The lists it actually does provide are all hopelessly inaccurate (I found glaring errors in ALL of them), and there is virtually no information about guest characters, side quests, etc. The only info that IS provided is about the battles themselves, and that advice is hopelessly uninspired and uncreative in my opinion. What about a section about poaching? About breeding monsters? About stealing rare goodies from bosses? What about information on trapping the best monster allies...Read more |
