This review is from: Final Fantasy XIII-2: The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition (Hardcover) I have not yet spent a great deal of time, roughly 3 hours, playing the game with this guide, but it has so far impressed me more than the game itself. First, the guide is divided into separate sections, each with a different amount of spoilers. If you want a simple guide to get you through the game quickly with little spoilers, this is it. If you want a guide with a good balance between completion and simplicity, this is it. And if you want a guide that goes into great detail about every aspect of the game, this is also it. And those are just the different parts of the walkthrough! The guide also includes item, fragment, and trophy checklists, as well as an in depth bestiary. Aesthetically, the guide also succeeds. The collector's edition is a plain, white padded hardcover with the logo of the game. Absolutely beautiful. Every page of the guide is also filled with high quality screenshots from the game. The collector's edition also has an extras portion with interviews with key staff...Read more 15 of 18 people found the following review helpful: By Just~a~Dude (Ohio) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Final Fantasy XIII-2: The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition (Hardcover) This guide book is incredible. The quality of the padded hardcover is really phenomenal in and of itself. I don't think they could have done a better job with nothing more to work with than plain white and the logo. The logo itself is a shiny foil and mixed with the incredibly smooth white background makes for an impressive compliment. These are really pure aesthetics and it completely exceeds any expectations you will have about this. The content is laid out in a manor that anybody could navigate with ease. It also does it's very best in conveying information without giving away spoilers. If your a collector you have to get this, because it also has a 16 page extra that anybody who collects will find well worth the extra money, even if the outside aesthetics were unchanged. If you are going to get a guide book this is the definitive copy to get. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By T.K. "Tim" (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Final Fantasy XIII-2: The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition (Hardcover) I've had this book for about a week and 7 pages have already fallen out do to the poor binding or should I say lack of binding. The pages are glued to other pages it seems, not actually bound to the hard cover. Buy the paperback and ignore this, or buy this and never open it if you intend to keep it as a collectible. I'm reaching out to Amazon today to return/replace. I'm extremely disappointed because it's such a nice book! The walkthrough, side quests and secrets are so well done, it's a shame they didn't put the quality into the book as much as they put into its content. |
