Hardly a session with FS98 goes by without me refering to this volumn. It is a great guide to anyone starting out with this program, or experienced users who want the occaisional reference. The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that this book had very little info about about the technical aspects of the program. In particular I expected to see a chapter or two about downloading and loading add-ons from the internet (planes, scenary etc..). However, this is minor. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good guide to FS98. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator: Inside Moves (Paperback) This book, which I refer to as my perfect Co-Pilot, really helped me in the early stages when I first got the game. It tought me about all the radio communications, (ie. VOR, MAV1, NAV2), and how to use all the proper flight instruments. Needless to say, I currently go onto the web every night and play with my online buds. This book is a MUST GET!! for all you veterens and newbies. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator: Inside Moves (Paperback) This book is good if you want an easy Guide to gettingstarted, an explanation of the instruments, some suggestions forlanding, etc. , but I would reccommend the "Unauthorized Game Secrets" version. It's the identical book, but it has an additional chapter (note the 30+ extra pages in the description). I did not compare page to page, but they have the identical lessons, pictures, etc in most chapters. I don't just mean similar ideas, I mean exact wording. None of the FS98 books are very high quality like some of the books for other Microsoft Software (say Excel or Word). These are more of a basic level book. The only reason I purchased the book is because the word going around the web was the Help menu on FSIM98 was useless. I figured for $15 or so. I could avoid the hassle. If you don't mind spending $15 for basic assistance, I would get MFS98:Unauthorized Game Secrets. The other book "Inside Moves" is basically a re-hash of the same stuff. I have not read...Read more |
