This review is from: NCAA Football 11 - Prima Essential Guide: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Essential Playbooks) (Spiral-bound) This strategy guide is a great addition to the NCAA Football 11 video game. Also, it has helped me understand the game of football better. If you have the game, this is a good purchase. It is good reading as well if you enjoy the game of football. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: NCAA Football 11 - Prima Essential Guide: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Essential Playbooks) (Spiral-bound) If you've played NCAA recently, this will only add a nominal amount of knowledge at best, (I myself picked up reading DE on Read plays, and that's about it) while it's a good start point for those just picking up the game, for anyone who's played any version in the last 4 years this really isn't worth the money you'd spend 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By NJ Carolina "ENJAY" (Cary, NC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: NCAA Football 11 - Prima Essential Guide: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Essential Playbooks) (Spiral-bound) This book is not really worth the price you pay to get it. First of all, don't be fooled by the photo. read the actual dimensions. This book is tiny. It's about the size of the game's instruction manual, but fatter. I expected a full size strategy guide (My fault for not reading the dimensions). The actual information in the book is not too bad for the offense and defense strategies. They give you pointers, and a lot of ideas to help you develop your own playbook pretty well, but it's nothing that I couldn't get from just playing through the training mode in the game, which you'll do anyway to try out some of the play calling they suggest.
The rest of the book consists of a handful of teams where they talk about their offense/defense strategies specifically. Fine, I guess, if your team made the cut, but they probably didn't!! For what is included, it is good, but I wish this book was a little larger, a little thicker, and had more to it. |
