I'm more than halfway through and I can't put it down. I would recommend anyone that decides to take a leap of faith on books from the video game genre this one would be it--it reads more like a book that a video game was inspired from and not the other way around. I know it sounds counter intuitive but I would recommend watching the "Uprising Trailer" at [....] or on [....] because it enhances the richness of this world.
The action is fast paced and the author does a wonderful job of making me want to know what's next--he accomplishes this by sending the main character from one setting to the next, one mystery and action sequence leading to another setting and set of characters to discover. Always a sign of an entertaining and good book for me is when I can't put it down, and this has had me totally hooked after the protagonist wakes up from his Cryogenic sleep of 100 years--from there it's buckle up and enjoy the ride. This book is good. It's well written and easy to read, the story is entertaining and fast-paced.
I like how this book describe the events previous to the game, the asteroid, the arks, how the world was and the "conspiracy" to hijack the arks.
Everything is fine but I think the story has a lot more to say, I'm almost sure Mr. Costello wanted to go deeper in the story and characters but probably he had a really close release date when he started to work on it. As you read the book you soon realize it could go deeper in some subjects like what exactly nanotrites are or how the arks were built and the technology behind them. It also could develop a little more on the story about "The Visionary", how he becomes "The Visionary".
Maybe all that should be in a second book, one that explains more about political situation before the asteroid hit Earth and a more deeper look at Raine's life. Another part of the book should talk about how The Authority became The...Read more

This book was very enjoyable. I'm the kind of person who just likes to read "fun" books, and this book was definitely fun. I read about half of this book while drinking a beer by the pool. If you are looking for a life changing book, go find something that Oprah recommends.
