Overall, they did a much better job on Vol. 2 than on Vol. 1. The text is well written, this time by someone who has a clear grasp of the english language. There aren't nearly as many errors in grammar. The book is also more accurate regarding the details of the characters and story. Best of all, the in-game screenshots are no longer plastered over with Japanese subtitles, like they were in Vol. 1. They are also larger, allowing the reader to better follow along with them in the plot summaries. Wesker's Report is included, something which I've never seen before. There is also a complete timeline showing when every single event takes place in the entire RE saga. The only thing about the book that really disappointed me was the Items section. The pictures for the items found in RE 4 and 5 are way too small, so small that it's pointless to even put the pictures in there. If you are a fan of the Resident Evil games, this is a great reference guide. This book explains everything from the games, including each game story with selected scans, characters, creatures, weapons, items, Umbrella's timeline, concept art, all files, the Prologue of what happen in Racoon city, S.T.A.R.S police, Ashford family. Filled with scans and drawings from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.
Also as an extra, there is info from Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Resident Evil: Degeneration.

I am a late-comer in appreciating this particular Capcom series. Even until now, I haven't played most of the other games yet. I fell in love with RE after playing the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4, and immediately bought the remake version of the first Resident Evil (in Gamecube as well). I have played the second sequel in the Gamecube version (more like a port, rather than a remake), and enjoyed it--even for a short time. I'm glad that the two volumes about the Resident Evil background/history were released because I've gotten to know more about the characters and the development of the series. I was really glad when this second volume arrived in pristine condition in such a short waiting period. Like the first volume, it was filled with lots of pictures about the different monsters, characters, as well as many summaries for the subsequently released games. Although the overall plot can be "over the top," I like the series' theme of its "dog-eat-dog" concept that was blended...Read more
