If you want to learn how to use your computer this is the way! A DVD from Lynda.com's training library. I use a Mac but I needed to help a friend learn how to use her new Vista based computer so I bought her this CD/DVD as I knew it would save me hours. This DVD shows you how to get the best out of Vista, like printers! I hate printers but this made the whole Windows thing so easy to understand and I use a Mac!

I have learned everything I know about my Mac and Vista from Lynda.com and now have a subscription. Vista, Mac Leopard, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Photoshop CS3, Dreamweaver, Action Script I am a walking advertisement for Lynda.com training videos. If you don't believe me have a look at my website janetteheffernan.com. Everything you see I learned off Lynda.com. I could never have done this with her.

Lastly this is an unsolicited testimonial. I know no one at Lynda.com but I heartily endorse this DVD.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through this training, and I have to say that it has far exceeded my expectations. Like most people, I've been using windows xp for a number of years, and now I need to quickly come up to speed on Vista. This training has helped me do that, and a whole lot more!

The first thing to know about this training is that it's very much geared towards the experienced windows user. It doesn't expect you to be a power user, but it doesn't really hold your hand about introducing you to windows and personal computers either. I'd have to say that mostly the training is focused on "what's new and changed in vista". So if you are an xp user now, and want to migrate to vista, this training is just what you need. If you are new to computers and are trying to get more comfortable with using a pc, this training may not be quite what you need.

The scope of topics is impressive. It includes things like customization, performance optimization, searching,...Read more
